RUEDE QUALITY & DETAIL

The Quality is in the Process

Ruede creates fine furniture and cabinetry by using only the finest grade hardwoods
such as White Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Ash, Hickory, Birch, Maple and Mahogany.

Ruede begins with hand-selected, quality hardwoods to assure quality control in every piece of furniture produced. Appalachian hardwoods are specially chosen from a group of the nation's top mills.

All woods are kiln-dried to produce the ideal moisture content. Because varying weather conditions can cause expansion and contraction in wood, all Ruede furniture and cabinetry are specially designed to compensate for those conditions.

The hardwoods arrive raw-cut the Ruede factory, where they are planed to the appropriate thickness for each application. Ruede panels, for example, begin with 1" wood, which is planed to 13/16" to provide a stronger, more durable panel. Panels are precisely gauged and hand-shaped to insure uniform thickness.

Base framing for every Ruede piece is constructed of poplar, and each base consists of a full frame rather than just corner blocking as is found in other constructions. All inner frames are glued and reinforced, and all face frames are glued as well as screwed for extra strength. Corners are locked and mitered for perfect fit and square.

Every wood component goes though a multi-step process:

· Hand-sanding and staining
· Treatment with moisture-resistant sealant
· Hand-rubbing
· Treatment with an acrylic lacquer

Stains, which are specially formulated for Ruede, are applied by hand before assembly to reduce any possibility of grain variations causing lines during expansion and contraction of the wood.
From start to finish, every step in the crafting of fine furniture is carefully monitored and checked to insure that your finished furniture is the finest. The quality is built in and the result is furniture that is beautiful, functional, and lasting.

The Difference is in the Detail

What sets Ruede apart from other manufacturers is
the special attention to appearance and functional details.

Example: Ruede drawers are built as four-part units with attached front so they can be quickly and easily aligned. All drawer sides and backs are solid wood, not particle board.

The fronts and backs are dovetailed and smoothed. All drawers are hand-rubbed and hand-finished on the inside for a smooth, soft surface.

Ruede cabinets and desks are constructed from the finest available materials.

During the crafting of your order we assemble these materials into individual 'panels' that become part of your finished desk or cabinet.

Drawers are track-mounted on solid poplar and fitted with heavy duty full-extension ball bearing metal glides for easy gliding and durability.

On selected Ruede desks with dust covers between the drawers, you'll find solid 1/4" construction.

Our commitment to quality shows in every Ruede product!
